Infrared Switches

Infrared Switches (IR) Exit Buttons – Touch Free Access Control

Infrared switches are a type of door exit button that use infrared to detect a hand so there’s no need to touch the button. This makes them ideal for environments where hygiene is priority.

The Infrared buttons are ideal in areas such as-
  • Hospitals and clinics
  • Food production areas
  • Public restrooms
  • Cleanrooms and labs
  • High-traffic buildings
How do they work?
  • When someone waves their hand in front of the button, the infrared sensor picks up the motion and sends a signal to unlock the door.
  • The door remains unlocked for a set time and then automatically secures again.

These touch free buttons help reduce the spread of germs as well as helping people with limited mobility as no physical touch is needed.
